Specialized service · Catalytic Converter
The diesel catalytic converter (DOC) is a chemical reactor that converts toxic gases into harmless substances. Over time, it can become contaminated by oil or poor quality fuel, losing its conversion capacity.
What is the catalytic converter
The diesel catalytic converter (DOC - Diesel Oxidation Catalyst) has an internal honeycomb structure coated with noble metals (platinum and palladium). When hot gases pass through it, it transforms Carbon Monoxide (CO) and Hydrocarbons (HC) into Carbon Dioxide (CO2) and water.
In Euro 6 engines, there is a second catalyst (SCR) where AdBlue is injected to neutralize Nitrogen Oxides (NOx), transforming them into pure Nitrogen and water — completely harmless substances.

Consequences
Although the catalytic converter doesn't clog as easily as the DPF/FAP, chemical contamination reduces its efficiency and affects the entire anti-pollution system.
