Specialized service · EGR
The EGR valve recirculates exhaust gases to reduce emissions, but accumulates soot that blocks it. Professional cleaning removes deposits and restores function without replacing the part.
What is the EGR
The EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) valve diverts part of the already burned exhaust gases back into the cylinders. The goal is to reduce combustion temperature and decrease the formation of Nitrogen Oxides (NOx) — highly toxic gases regulated by environmental standards. The EGR is electronically controlled by the ECU and opens at idle and cruise, closing under hard acceleration.
Cleaning recommended every 40,000 km
Although essential for the environment, the EGR is the main source of contamination in diesel engines. The gases contain soot which, when mixed with oil vapours, creates a thick black paste that clogs the valve and intake manifold.

Consequences
A dirty EGR doesn't fix itself. Carbon deposits continue to accumulate and problems worsen with every kilometre driven.
