Specialized service · Turbocharger
The turbocharger multiplies diesel engine power by forcing more air into the cylinders. Carbonization blocks the variable geometry vanes and reduces turbo response. Professional cleaning is the economical alternative to replacement.
The diesel turbo problem
Most modern diesel turbos have variable vanes that adjust airflow (Variable Geometry). The soot generated by diesel combustion, worsened by the EGR system, deposits on the vanes and locks them — preventing pressure adjustment and causing power loss.
If dirt accumulates unevenly, it creates imbalance in the shaft (which spins at over 150,000 RPM). This imbalance destroys bearings and oil seals, leading to total turbo failure — which can cost thousands of euros.

Consequences
A turbo with severe carbonization or blocked vanes is a ticking time bomb. Wear accelerates exponentially until total failure.
